Nero D 'Avola Sicilia " Nerè" Feudo Maccari 🇮🇹
€4

Description

( 100% Nero D’avola , 13.5% vol ) Feudo Maccari covers nearly 265 hectares, 60 of which are vineyards divided into three groups on hills caressed all day by the sea breeze. The heart is Maccari, corresponding to more than 70% of the Feudo, where the vineyards that have already made some 30 harvests are always in the sun all day long. Not far away is the other body of the estate, a district particularly suited for viticulture because the conformation of the soil retains moisture, a decisive detail in a drought-prone territory where Greeks, Romans and Arabs have always had to deal with the lack of water. Finally, the highest point of the estate, a terrace over the Ionian Sea and the natural oasis of Vendìcari, the area of contrada Gerbi and contrada Timponazzo where the different types between the soils, black and sandy or white calcareous, the differences in height and exposure, all seem to be created on purpose to favor the birth of complex wines and allow the different vegetative trends of the plants to be balanced. Not far away is an area particularly devoted to viticulture because the formation of the soil retains moisture, a decisive factor in a very arid area where Greeks, Romans and Arabs struggled with a severe lack of water. The appearance of the soft hills of Feudo Maccari, the white limestone soil, and the breezes that come from the meeting of two seas, create the best conditions for vines to grow successfully and give birth to great wines.

PRIMITIVE GIOIA DEL COLLE BLACK LABEL " PLANTAMURA " 🇮🇹
€4

Description

( 100% primitivo , 15% vol ) The Plantamura winery, for us, is a dream that became first a project and then a splendid reality. Ours is a family story that has found, over time, its own way.We were among the first to believe in organic viticulture, certified since 1996.We were fortunate to have the stories of a father who passed on to us the value of work, the love for a vine, the sacrifice in the vineyards, the strength of people who want to make their company and their territory great. From these stories came the idea of starting a complete supply chain, back in 2002: from cultivation to sales, from family land to the fairs that personally host us. From these stories also came the idea of continuing to work with ancient clones, grandfather’s clones, to be planted again and again.

MAINTENANT OU JAMAIS CAHORS 'CHÂTEAU PONZAC' 🇫🇷
€4

Description

( 95% malbec ,5% merlot .14% vol ) Château Ponzac On the one hand, Matthieu, great-grandson of a winegrower and heir to a family of winegrowers since the 18th century, decides at a very young age to devote himself to vines and wine by reorganizing the family property, always seeking the diversity of individual terroirs. On the other Virginie, great-granddaughter of a winemaker, born near Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux region who devoted all her energy to wine! The union, both personal and professional, between the two has revived Château Ponzac in the land where Malbec was born. The property also has vineyards planted to chenin and viognier, but it is malbec that is the varietal that most represents this small producer, a perfect icon of Cahors.

BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR "RESERVE DU CHATEAU "CHATEAU PEY LA TOUR - DOURTHE 🇫🇷
€4

Description

(88% Merlot ,10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot,14.5% vol ) Vins et Vignobles Dourthe The company was founded in 1840 by Pierre Dourthe, a hotelier from southern Aquitaine, who joined as a partner in a Bordeaux negoçe. The first major turning point was in 1929 when Roger and André Dourthe, bought Châteaux Maucaillou in Moulis giving the Maison the real basis of its development, with a vision tied to terroir. In fact, unlike the Bordeaux negoçiants, who were based in the Quai des Chartrons in the city, Dourthe chose to develop his business in the heart of the vineyard, in the Médoc. The two brothers associate the Dourthe name with a reputation, where the constant search for quality and innovation go hand in hand with perfect, integrated vineyard management. Dourthe is now a family group, grouping and managing as many as 9 Châteaux and cultivating more than 500 hectares of vines. A unicum that represents different terroirs, styles and quality levels for Bordeaux wines consecrating Dourthe as first and foremost a “winemaker” with wines known and reputed in the world as must-haves!

DE LOACH WINERY PINOT NOIR CALIFORNIA HERITAGE RESERVE 🇺🇸
€4

Description

( 100% Pinot noir ,13.5% vol ) Among the pioneers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California’s Russian River Valley inside Sonoma County, De Loach has continued to experiment and refine the best soil and substrate combinations with different clones for more than 30 years. Among the first American wineries certified organic, with its acquisition by the Boisset family in 2003, it began a process of transferring Burgundian knowledge with a view to revitalizing the soil while making wines that were the result of their terroir. In fact, Brian Maloney, the winery’s young winemaker, has one motto: “terroir show first.” Certified organic in 2008 and biodynamic in 2009, the winery began, in full French style, the vinification of individual terroirs: from Maboroshi to Green Valley to Pennacchio in search of the highest expressions of Pinot Noir. De Loach is to date a perfect ambassador of California winemaking with fine, elegant wines of great depth and longevity

VALLONE SALICE SALENTINO NEGRAMARO VERETO RISERVA 2019 🇮🇹
€4

Description

( 95% Sangiovese , 5% Canaiolo , 13.5% vol ) Castellare di Castellina was born from the union of four estates (Castellare, Caselle, San Niccolò and Le Case) made by Paolo Panerai with the goal of producing wine of the best possible quality. It was the 1970s when the so-called Italian wine renaissance had begun. A Renaissance to which Castellare was able to contribute, holding tradition and innovation together. Tradition in caring for the vineyards and soils, distinguished between campi and sodi (where campi are the easiest soils to work and sodi the hardest but best plots for growing vines), in choosing to still make wine according to the Tuscan-style method of governance, to respect Chianti Classico by using only indigenous grape varieties, and to produce a great wine, recognized internationally as one of the greatest reds in the world, using only indigenous Tuscan grape varieties.

( 100% negroamaro, 13.5% vol ) The winemaking activity dates back to the second half of the 19th century when Commendatore Vincenzo De Marco successfully started in San Pietro Vernotico the production and marketing of bulk wines to France and Tuscany. The agricultural company was born from the union of Professor Donato Vallone’s land with that given as a dowry by Commendatore De Marco to his daughter Maria: the 1934 marriage act sanctioned the merger of the two agricultural entities, the Flaminio Estate in Brindisi with the Iore Estate in San Pancrazio Salentino. Later, in the late 1960s, the splendid Castel Serranova estate would be added.

VALPOLICELLA RIPASSO VALPANTENA 'BERTANI' 🇮🇹
€4

Description

( 85% corvina , 10% Merlot ,5% rondinella , 13.5% vol ) Synonymous itself with “Amarone,” Bertani represents not only the most important winery in Valpolicella but also one of the most prestigious and well-known wineries in all of Italy. A story that begins very far back, exactly in 1857, with the founding of the winery by brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani. The latter came from a long period of learning spent at the school of the great Professor Guyot in France. Since then, tradition and innovation have always gone hand in hand, from the many investments in the vineyard and winery to the purchase of the splendid Villa Novare, an estate that represents in the world the extraordinary work still carried out today by the Bertani family. There are currently more than two hundred hectares under vine, divided among some of the best areas in the province of Verona, and the Villa Novare estate has been joined by the Grezzana winery, currently the headquarters and beating heart of the entire company, where the winemaking, bottling and shipping stages are combined. In the vineyard, under the direction of agronomist Andrea Lonardi, old plants that reach even 35 years of age alternate with new vines-of which the last were made in 2015.Respect for the environment and the ecosystem comes first, so organic experimentation has also recently begun, with the intention of extending the regime, in the future, to the entire estate. In the winery, the team is well-rounded and broken-in, with winemaker Christian Ridolfi leading the team for more than 15 years. Since 2014 merged into “Bertani Domains,” after it had been purchased by “Tenimenti Angelini” in 2011, the Bertani winery produces more than two million bottles annually, proving to be a company that, despite the passing of the years, constantly manages to renew itself, always staying in step with the times, while at the same time maintaining a style that best interprets classicism and makes the most of the oldest traditions, producing great Veneto reds, such as Amarone

coravin

Coravin System

CASTELGIOCONDO - FRESCOBALDI - 2014 🇮🇹

Description

(Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Sangiovese 100%, alc. 15% vol) Castel Giocondo is a unique place in Montalcino, where the wide variety of exposures and soils – marl, clays and Pliocene sands – give this Brunello infinite nuances. A multifacetedness of notes that evolve over time and make me continually want to discover, savor and remember. The careful care placed in the vineyard along with the typicalities of this unmistakable terroir resulted in a beautiful harvest. The Sangiovese grapes were harvested by hand and once arrived at the winery subjected to scrupulous selection. Fermentations took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with frequent pumping over especially during the early stages. The wine then underwent a long aging in wood, where it was allowed to mature, refine and balance. Only after a period of 5 years in the cellar and a further refinement of a few months in the bottle did Castel Giocondo prove ready to make a name for itself.

THE EMBERS ' SEVERINO GAROFANO' 🇮🇹
€8

Description

( 100% Negroamaro, 15% vol ) The Garofano Vigneti e Cantine winery was founded in 1995 by Severino Garofano, an oenologist with a pioneering and countercultural personality, recognized as the proponent of the Negroamaro renaissance. In the heart of Sa- lento, in Copertino, a 30-hectare property including vineyards, a processing winery and a rural farmhouse is taken over. The indigenous Negroamaro grape variety is the primary source of inspiration for Garofano’s main signature labels, each of which tells a story of authenticity and the strong connection to its territory of origin, in a portion of Apulia “rich in bone and poor in pulp,” characterized by wide flat areas, where stone is part of the soil itself and soils are shallow. Now run by their children Stefano and Renata, the winery is dedicated to producing wines with full respect for the vocation of the terroir: in the winery, feeling is as valuable as technique, culture and professionalism. Loyalty to traditions and gratitude to a bountiful countryside are the solid foundation of constant research and innovation, attentive to the sustainability of crop choices, the observance of natural cultivation practices, and the absence of chemical weeding. The decision to concentrate production on the Negroamaro grape variety gives rise to rosé and red wines of great personality and depth, with a deeply Mediterranean soul, soft and delicate tannins, and fresh and savory flavors. It is from stones that flowers are born.

PRIMITIVO RISERVA GIOIA DEL COLLE ' PIETRAVENTOSA' 🇮🇹
€8

Description

( 100% primitive , 15% vol ) Love for one’s land, passion for wine and the desire to rediscover the noble Primitivo grape of Gioia del Colle are the ingredients from which Agricole Pietraventosa comes to life. Very limited productions in terms of yields per vine obtained with targeted pruning, thinning of green clusters and careful selection at harvest, are for us goals to be strictly adhered to. With the help and experience of our dear friend and winemaker Oronzo Alò, we employ state-of-the-art equipment, naturally harmonized with respect for the ancient memories of winemaking, so as to give our wine the strong and decisive character that binds it firmly to our land. The production cellar, a few meters from the vineyard, has a covered area of about 1,000 square meters on two levels, the basement of which is dug into the rock at a depth of 6 meters from ground level. Founded in 2005, Agricole Pietraventosa immediately established itself among the most representative companies present in the Gioia del Colle Primitivo Doc territory. The evident territorial imprint present in the winery’s wines, harmoniously produced with their own grapes and in compliance with organic production protocols (the winery has been certified organic since its foundation), has meant that major Italian and foreign publications have often highlighted, through their reviews and awards, Agricole Pietraventosa’s consistency in proposing wines endowed with distinct personality closely linked to the rugged Murgia territory. A member company of FIVI (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti – Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers), it scrupulously shares and respects its fundamental principles.
